{"id":20761,"date":"2018-02-26T02:28:52","date_gmt":"2018-02-25T20:58:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=20761"},"modified":"2018-02-26T02:28:52","modified_gmt":"2018-02-25T20:58:52","slug":"awareness-on-sexual-harassment-of-women-at-workplace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/02\/26\/awareness-on-sexual-harassment-of-women-at-workplace\/","title":{"rendered":"Awareness on sexual harassment of women at workplace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>TEZU, Feb 25:<\/strong> The Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell of Indira Gandhi Government (IGG) College organised a legal awareness programme on &#8216;Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013&#8217; and &#8216;Human trafficking laws&#8217; in collaboration with its women&#8217;s cell here on Saturday.<br \/>\nAdvocate Laya Mena and Sub-Inspector Roinem Jugli were the panel speakers.<br \/>\nAdvocate Mena discussed the various laws and procedures of sexual offences in addition to SHWA-2013. He also highlighted case studies pertaining to rape.<br \/>\nSub-Inspector Jugli discussed in detail the role of police in filing FIR reports and other related procedures, including medical examination of the victims.<br \/>\nShe stressed on the need for legal awareness among women and creating healthy environment where women are free to know their rights and make responsible use of the laws available.<br \/>\nThe cell also screened a documentary on human trafficking &#8216;Freedom Matters&#8217;, which features Noble laureate Kailash Satyarthi (A crusader against child labour and trafficking) and another important short film on the issue of rape.<br \/>\nThe women&#8217;s cell of IGG College had earlier started its first maiden self-defense classes for girl students and women faculty members, which is currently underway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TEZU, Feb 25: The Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell of Indira Gandhi Government (IGG) College organised a legal awareness programme on &#8216;Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013&#8217; and &#8216;Human trafficking laws&#8217; in collaboration with its women&#8217;s cell here on Saturday.
