{"id":209850,"date":"2023-01-30T00:37:18","date_gmt":"2023-01-29T19:07:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=209850"},"modified":"2023-01-30T00:37:18","modified_gmt":"2023-01-29T19:07:18","slug":"cm-asks-bjp-workers-not-to-allow-money-culture-during-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2023\/01\/30\/cm-asks-bjp-workers-not-to-allow-money-culture-during-elections\/","title":{"rendered":"CM asks BJP workers not to allow &#8216;money culture&#8217; during elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 29 Jan:<\/strong> Chief Minister Pema Khandu has urged BJP workers not to allow &#8220;money culture&#8221; during elections as such practice &#8220;disturbs democratic ethos.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apart from the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the assembly elections in the Northeastern state are due next year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;As elections approach, let us not allow money culture to disturb our democratic ethos,&#8221; Khandu said, addressing a two-day state BJP executive meeting at Aalo in West Siang district on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Notably, several cash seizure cases were reported during the 2019 elections in the state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The chief minister also urged party workers to involve women to make people aware of the benefits of government schemes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;From homemakers to working for development of Arunachal, women have played crucial role in our society,&#8221; Khandu wrote on his official Twitter handle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Asserting that the BJP is the &#8220;only party&#8221; which could take the state to a higher growth trajectory, Khandu said: &#8220;To expand the party&#8217;s vision and work, we should take help of community in spreading good words of our government&#8217;s welfare work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Highlighting the developmental activities initiated by the state government, the chief minister said that &#8220;historical achievements like Tali and Vijanagar roads, village programmes, and reverse migration to border areas&#8221; are some of the achievements of the government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The long pending Assam-Arunachal boundary issue will be solved shortly,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">BJP national general secretary Dilip Saikia, who is also the in-charge of Arunachal, in his address stressed on maintaining discipline by the party workers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">State ministers presented the achievements of their respective departments during the meeting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the event, economic and political resolutions were passed, which were moved by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and MLA Nyato Dukam, party sources said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, along with Lok Sabha member, Tapir Gao also attended the meeting.
