{"id":21100,"date":"2018-03-01T02:10:43","date_gmt":"2018-02-28T20:40:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=21100"},"modified":"2018-03-01T02:10:43","modified_gmt":"2018-02-28T20:40:43","slug":"training-for-farmers-concludes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/03\/01\/training-for-farmers-concludes\/","title":{"rendered":"Training for farmers concludes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>PASIGHAT, Feb 28:<\/strong> In all, 25 participants from Pasighat, Mebo and Ruksin blocks of East Siang district attended the eight-day training programme for farmers on &#8216;Advances in Production Technology of Selected Agri-Horti Crops&#8217; which concluded here on Wednesday.<br \/>\nOrganized jointly by the College of Agriculture (COA), College of Horticulture &amp; Forestry (CHF) and Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) East Siang, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Pasighat, the training was sponsored by the ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VII, Umiam, Meghalaya under the aegis of Director of Extension Education, CAU, Imphal, Manipur.<br \/>\nIn his inaugural address, Dean, College of Horticulture &amp; Forestry, Central Agricultural University, Dr AK Pandey emphasized on available location specific and farmer-friendly technologies for the farming community of the district.<br \/>\nHe also elaborated on the prospect of vermicomposting and the need of integrated nutrient management to increase production and productivity of crops in the state.<br \/>\nDr Pandey also advised the participants to concentrate on commercial vegetable cultivation and promote organic based farmer-friendly technologies.<br \/>\nAssistant Director Agriculture (Training), Farmers Training Centre, Pasighat, Rigam Riba appraised the participants about different activities taken up by the FTC and ATMA in East Siang district.<br \/>\nDean of College of Agriculture and Course Director of the training, Prof BN Hazarika also spoke on the occasion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PASIGHAT, Feb 28: In all, 25 participants from Pasighat, Mebo and Ruksin blocks of East Siang district attended the eight-day training programme for farmers on &#8216;Advances in Production Technology of Selected Agri-Horti Crops&#8217; which concluded here on Wednesday.
