ITANAGAR, 21 Feb:<\/strong> Officials of government departments, along with panchayat members and members of CBOs, SHGs, NGOs and voluntary organisations, among others, are participating in a three-day state level workshop on gender budgeting, which began at the State Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (SIRD&PR) here on Tuesday.<\/p>\n “The workshop is aimed at providing an opportunity to the participants to enhance their knowledge and skills in gender budgeting, which will help them develop a gender-responsive budget in their respective departments,” the SIRD&PR informed in a release.<\/p>\n The workshop will be conducted by experts in the field of gender budgeting, and will cover topics such as gender analysis, gender-responsive budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation of gender budgeting initiatives.<\/p>\n Gender budgeting is a process of incorporating a gender perspective into budgetary decisions and is an essential tool for promoting gender equality and empowering women. The workshop will provide the participants with a better understanding of gender budgeting and its importance in promoting gender equality.<\/p>\n In his opening remarks, SIRD&PR Director Habung Lampung said that “gender budgeting is an essential tool for promoting gender equality and empowering women.
