{"id":216532,"date":"2023-05-19T01:43:12","date_gmt":"2023-05-18T20:13:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=216532"},"modified":"2023-05-19T01:43:12","modified_gmt":"2023-05-18T20:13:12","slug":"apic-imposes-penalty-on-pios","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2023\/05\/19\/apic-imposes-penalty-on-pios\/","title":{"rendered":"APIC imposes penalty on PIOs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 18 May:<\/strong> The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission (APIC) has imposed a penalty of Rs 25,000 on Public Information Officer (PIO) and Chayang Tajo (East Kameng) RWD EE Kaku Pangia for violation of Section 7 (1) of the RTI Act, 2005, in APIC Case No 308\/2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The APIC also imposed a penalty of Rs 25,000 on PIO and Likabali RWD EE Deli Kambu in APIC Case No 684\/2022 &#8220;for his negligence and refusal in furnishing the information to the appellant Ijip Taso and defying the order of the commission.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The PIO has been directed to deposit the penalty amount in favour of the APIC registrar through treasury challan on or before 1 June, and to appear before the SIC on the same day along with deposited copy of treasury challan, including information sought by the appellant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The commission said that it will invoke Section 20 (2) of the Right to Information Act, 2005, if the PIO fails to comply with the order.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, 18 May: The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission (APIC) has imposed a penalty of Rs 25,000 on Public Information Officer (PIO) and Chayang Tajo (East Kameng) RWD EE Kaku Pangia for violation of Section 7 (1) of the RTI Act, 2005, in APIC Case No 308\/2022.
