{"id":217415,"date":"2023-06-01T01:23:31","date_gmt":"2023-05-31T19:53:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=217415"},"modified":"2023-06-01T01:23:31","modified_gmt":"2023-05-31T19:53:31","slug":"apic-imposes-penalty-on-pio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2023\/06\/01\/apic-imposes-penalty-on-pio\/","title":{"rendered":"APIC imposes penalty on PIO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 31 May:<\/strong> The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission (APIC) on Monday imposed a penalty of Rs. twenty-five thousand only to Rumgong BDO-cum-PIO in Siang district Nani Taka for his negligence and refusal to furnish the information under APIC case No. 690\/2022\u00a0\u00a0 to the appellant and for defying the order of the commission.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, the PIO has to compensate\u00a0 an amount of\u00a0 Rs. five thousand only to the appellant Tabit Nyigang &#8220;for the monetary losses incurred on to and fro journey expenses due to delay in furnishing information.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The commission has directed the PIO to deposit the penalty amount in favour of APIC registrar through a treasury challan before 29 June and appear before the Commission along with deposited challan and information as sought by the appellant on 29 June.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The commission further said it will invoke section 20(2) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 in case the PIO fails to comply with the order.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, 31 May: The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission (APIC) on Monday imposed a penalty of Rs. twenty-five thousand only to Rumgong BDO-cum-PIO in Siang district Nani Taka for his negligence and refusal to furnish the information under APIC case No. 690\/2022\u00a0\u00a0 to the appellant and for defying the order of the commission.
