{"id":218984,"date":"2023-06-23T00:42:11","date_gmt":"2023-06-22T19:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=218984"},"modified":"2023-06-23T00:42:11","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T19:12:11","slug":"da-discusses-strategies-to-tackle-drug-menace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2023\/06\/23\/da-discusses-strategies-to-tackle-drug-menace\/","title":{"rendered":"DA discusses strategies to tackle drug menace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>TEZU, 22 Jun:<\/strong> Strategies to tackle the drug menace in Lohit district were discussed during a district-level NCORD Committee meeting held here on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Deputy Commissioner Shashvat Saurabh chaired the meeting, which was conducted by the district administration in coordination with Guwahati (Assam)-based NCB to discuss the issues pertaining to drug trafficking and illegal opium cultivation in the district.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The DC sought proactive participation from all the stakeholders in making the district free from drugs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">SP Himanshu Nigam informed about the overall scenario of drug abuse in Lohit and the measures taken to curb the menace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Preparing an action plan and the roles of different agencies were also discussed during the meeting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among others, the Lohit ASP, executive magistrates, NCB Guwahati officials, officials of the tax &amp; excise department, and HoDs attended the meeting.
