{"id":219445,"date":"2023-06-30T00:43:39","date_gmt":"2023-06-29T19:13:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=219445"},"modified":"2023-06-30T00:43:39","modified_gmt":"2023-06-29T19:13:39","slug":"mysterious-deaths-of-pigs-reported-in-tirap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2023\/06\/30\/mysterious-deaths-of-pigs-reported-in-tirap\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Mysterious&#8217; deaths of pigs reported in Tirap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 29 Jun:<\/strong> Around 30 pigs have died under &#8220;mysterious circumstances&#8221; in a village in Tirap district, causing panic among locals, a senior official said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The pigs, which were bought to Chomuithong village from Assam, &#8220;died recently all of a sudden,&#8221; Tirap Deputy Commissioner Hento Karga said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;I have instructed the veterinary and animal husbandry department officials to conduct an investigation to find out the cause of the deaths,&#8221; Karga said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that poultry farms in Chomuithong and surrounding areas have also been affected.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The veterinarians could not conduct lab tests or postmortem examinations; therefore, they were unable to ascertain the cause of the deaths,&#8221; Karga said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, the Tirap district administration has issued an order, prohibiting buying of pork from Assam and nearby districts from Wednesday.
