{"id":22014,"date":"2018-03-12T03:13:29","date_gmt":"2018-03-11T21:43:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=22014"},"modified":"2018-03-12T03:13:29","modified_gmt":"2018-03-11T21:43:29","slug":"icar-nrcy-holds-awareness-prog-for-yak-rearers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/03\/12\/icar-nrcy-holds-awareness-prog-for-yak-rearers\/","title":{"rendered":"ICAR-NRCY holds awareness prog for yak rearers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>DIRANG, Mar 11:<\/strong> The Yak rearers of Tawang district were educated about infertility management in yaks by the experts and scientists of ICAR-National Research Centre on yak (ICAR-NRCY) during a programme at Tsurmang under Jang subdivision on 9 March.<br \/>\nThey were made aware of different infertility issues in yaks and their preventive measures.<br \/>\nLater, all the 30 yak rearers, who attended the programme were distributed veterinary feed supplements and medicines to prevent infertility problems in yaks.<br \/>\nThe second programme was organized at Chagar on scientific feeding and management of yak, particularly during winter.<br \/>\nEach one of the yak rearers was provided with 100 kg common salt and 50 kg concentrate yak feed.<br \/>\nA similar programme was also held at Paibrovillage on 10 March, wherein 30 yak rearersattended and received same amount of common salt and yak feed.<br \/>\nA yak health camp was conducted on 10 March at Mangkang-Tse. During the programme, yak rearers interacted with the scientists regarding major diseases of yaks and their preventive measures.<br \/>\nThirty yak rearers were provided with wound healing ointments, sprays, vitamins, anti-diarrhoeal, anti-parasitic drugs, etc.<br \/>\nThese programmes were organized under the Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) scheme of the institute in collaboration with the state Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development Department, Tawang.<br \/>\nVeterinary officer Dr Thupten Tashi of Jang Thingbu CD block with other staff of the department were actively involved in conducting all the programmes.<br \/>\nScientists of the institute, Dr D Medhi and Dr Sourabh Deori coordinated these programmes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DIRANG, Mar 11: The Yak rearers of Tawang district were educated about infertility management in yaks by the experts and scientists of ICAR-National Research Centre on yak (ICAR-NRCY) during a programme at Tsurmang under Jang subdivision on 9 March.
