LATHAW, 21 Jul:<\/strong> The NABARD celebrated the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in Lathaw village in Namsai district on Friday, commemorating 75 years of India’s progress after independence.<\/p>\n During the event, themed ‘Achievements @75: Transforming lives and NABARD’s contribution in Arunachal Pradesh’, NABARD DDM Kamal Roy shed light on the developmental initiatives – in farm and off-farm sectors – undertaken by the NABARD to empower SHGs, farmers, and unemployed youths of the district.<\/p>\n NOOSAAP CEO Chau Athina Chauhai expressed gratitude to the NABARD for its continuous support to SHGs and farmers, “providing them with opportunities to engage in various activities to improve their livelihoods.”<\/p>\n He also announced the launch of two programmes for SHGs – handmade organic and natural soap-making, and incense stick-making – “supported by ZPC Nang Urmila Mancheykhun, under the SOR to PRIs through the panchayati raj department.”<\/p>\n “Vikramjit Das, the trainer for incense stick-making, will conduct sessions on packaging, providing insights into creating different flavours of incense sticks with the right quantity of oil for blending,” the NABARD informed in a release.<\/p>\n Mirenda Techi, the trainer for soap-making, highlighted “the increasing demand for handmade organic and natural soaps,” and said that, “with the acquired knowledge, SHGs can produce soaps with various fragrances, presenting opportunities for additional income for the trainees.”<\/p>\n ArSRLM block coordinator Mohini Eko motivated the members of SHGs to “wholeheartedly embrace the training and strive for excellence to showcase your progress to other parts of the state.”<\/p>\n Raw materials for soap-making, including soap bases and different shapes and sizes of silicon moulds were distributed to the selected SHGs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" LATHAW, 21 Jul: The NABARD celebrated the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in Lathaw village in Namsai district on Friday, commemorating 75 years of India’s progress after independence.
