{"id":23345,"date":"2018-03-24T02:20:07","date_gmt":"2018-03-23T20:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=23345"},"modified":"2018-03-24T02:20:07","modified_gmt":"2018-03-23T20:50:07","slug":"paragliding-potential-explored-at-papu-valley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/03\/24\/paragliding-potential-explored-at-papu-valley\/","title":{"rendered":"Paragliding potential explored at Papu Valley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>SEPPA, Mar 23:<\/strong> As part of a survey to explore the potential for adventure tourism in the area, a test paragliding flight was conducted at Papu Valley here in East Kameng district recently.<br \/>\nThe gliders took off from Lumdung helipad and landed on the bank of the Papu river.<br \/>\nThe survey team was led by Arunachal Paragliding Association president Vijay Sonam and secretary Niku Tara, along with Suren Gurung from Nepal and Raju Rai and Aita Raj Subbah from Sikkim.<br \/>\nThe survey team identified the take-off and landing sites.<br \/>\nJoining the survey team, Panchayat &amp; Rural Development Parliamentary Secretary Mama Natung said the identified site could be an ideal site for paragliding, if fully developed.<br \/>\n&#8220;Once paragliding starts in Papu Valley, it will attract youngsters and adventure sports lovers to pursue it as a career,&#8221; Natung said. &#8220;Youngsters can take up paragliding as a sport and compete at national and international levels.&#8221;<br \/>\nHe added that the Pema Khandu government is striving to tap the talents of the state&#8217;s youths in sports.<br \/>\nNatung also joined test flight in tandem with a pilot.<br \/>\nLater, Natung along with Deputy Commissioner Guarav Singh inspected ongoing construction work for establishing tourist complexes at Lumdung, Lafangso and the Papu river.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SEPPA, Mar 23: As part of a survey to explore the potential for adventure tourism in the area, a test paragliding flight was conducted at Papu Valley here in East Kameng district recently.
