[ Pisi Zauing ]<\/strong><\/p>\n MIAO, 21 Feb:<\/strong> Lucky 11 Kharsang won the Namdapha Cricket Cup, defeating Bordumsa Brothers Cricket Club by 50 runs in the final of the month-long cricket tournament played under floodlight at Miao general ground in Changlang district on the eve of the 38th Statehood Day.<\/p>\n The winning team was awarded a cash prize of Rs. one lakh while, the runner-up was given Rs. 50, 000 along with a trophy.<\/p>\n Earlier, Lucky 11 Kharsang batted first and scored 133 runs.<\/p>\n Uttam Patwari of Lucky 11 Kharsang, who claimed three crucial wickets and contributed 11 runs with the bat, was declared\u00a0 ‘Man of the Match.’<\/p>\n All-rounder Rajat Khan of Lucky 11 Kharsang was adjudged ‘Man of the Series’ for grabbing 13 wickets and scoring 164 runs in the tournament.<\/p>\n The best disciplined team award went to Miao Cricket Federation.<\/p>\n Twenty-seven teams participated in the limited over cricket tournament, which started on the eve of the Republic Day.<\/p>\n Local MLA & minister Kamlung Mossang sponsored the event, while Namdapha National Park & Tiger Reserve gifted the trophies.<\/p>\n ADC R.D Thungon and Miao ZPM Asamto Tikhak came to the rescue of the organizers by providing financial assistance at the eleventh hour.<\/p>\n Miao Mandal president Pisi Suriya Singpho (Zauring) and Miao Bazaar secretary Jowong Tingwa gave away the trophies and prizes to the winning team, the runners-up and the individual prize winners.<\/p>\n Conveying the message of minister Kamlung Mossang, the Mandal president re-iterated commitment to encourage sporting events in Miao subdivision for the benefit of the local youths.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" [ Pisi Zauing ] MIAO, 21 Feb: Lucky 11 Kharsang won the Namdapha Cricket Cup, defeating Bordumsa Brothers Cricket Club by 50 runs in the final of the month-long cricket tournament played under floodlight at Miao general ground in Changlang district on the eve of the 38th Statehood Day.
