{"id":236966,"date":"2024-03-13T01:34:54","date_gmt":"2024-03-12T20:04:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=236966"},"modified":"2024-03-13T01:34:54","modified_gmt":"2024-03-12T20:04:54","slug":"india-strongly-rejects-chinas-objection-to-pm-modis-visit-to-arunachal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2024\/03\/13\/india-strongly-rejects-chinas-objection-to-pm-modis-visit-to-arunachal\/","title":{"rendered":"India strongly rejects China&#8217;s objection to PM Modi&#8217;s visit to Arunachal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NEW DELHI, 12 Mar:<\/strong> India on Tuesday strongly rejected China&#8217;s objection to Prime Minister Narendra Modi&#8217;s recent visit to Arunachal Pradesh, and asserted that the state &#8220;was, is, and will&#8221; always be an integral and inalienable part of India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">External affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the Chinese side has been made aware of this &#8220;consistent position&#8221; on several occasions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Objecting to such visits by Indian leaders to Arunachal or India&#8217;s developmental projects in the state does not stand to reason, he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;We reject the comments made by the Chinese side regarding the visit of the prime minister to Arunachal Pradesh,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">China on Monday said that it lodged a diplomatic protest with India over Modi&#8217;s visit to Arunachal last week, and reiterated its claim over the region by saying that India&#8217;s moves will &#8220;only complicate&#8221; the unresolved boundary question.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jaiswal said that China&#8217;s objection to such visits will not change the reality that Arunachal &#8220;was, is, and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Indian leaders visit Arunachal Pradesh from time to time, as they visit other states of India. Objecting to such visits or India&#8217;s developmental projects does not stand to reason,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Further, it will not change the reality that the State of Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India,&#8221; Jaiswal said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Chinese side has been made aware of this consistent position on several occasions,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jaiswal was responding to media queries on the Chinese objection to Modi&#8217;s visit to Arunachal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">China, which claims Arunachal as South Tibet, routinely objects to Indian leaders&#8217; visits to the state to highlight its claims. Beijing has also named the area as Zangnan.
