{"id":237931,"date":"2024-03-29T01:05:22","date_gmt":"2024-03-28T19:35:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=237931"},"modified":"2024-03-29T01:05:22","modified_gmt":"2024-03-28T19:35:22","slug":"chakmas-candidature-rejected-over-insufficient-document","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2024\/03\/29\/chakmas-candidature-rejected-over-insufficient-document\/","title":{"rendered":"Chakma&#8217;s candidature rejected over insufficient document"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Staff Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 28 Mar:<\/strong> The candidature of Drishyamuni Chakma for the Bordumsa-Diyun assembly constituency was rejected by the Changlang district election office on Thursday, owing to &#8220;insufficient\/incomplete documents&#8221; submitted by the candidate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier on Thursday, Chakma&#8217;s candidature had been opposed by the All Arunachal Pradesh Students&#8217; Union (AAPSU) during an emergency meeting convened at the NEFA Club building here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The union had threatened to shut down the Nirvachan Bhavan here if the state government and the election commission failed to reject Chakma&#8217;s candidature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;We the indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh have been till date fighting against foreigner Chakma-Hajong legally and democratically. And the court has already declared Chakma-Hajong as foreigners.
