{"id":24252,"date":"2018-04-02T02:01:48","date_gmt":"2018-04-01T20:31:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=24252"},"modified":"2018-04-02T02:01:48","modified_gmt":"2018-04-01T20:31:48","slug":"consumers-have-not-exercised-their-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/04\/02\/consumers-have-not-exercised-their-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Consumers have not exercised their rights&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>NAHARLAGUN, Apr 1:<\/strong> &#8220;Apart from the establishment of the department of consumer affairs, people have by no means exercised their rights,&#8221; said Consumer Rights Organization &#8211; Arunachal Pradesh (CRO-AP) president Achu Bagang.<br \/>\nHe said this during a CRO-AP meeting on &#8216;Consumer rights, working for consumer awareness, consumer education and consumer protection&#8217; here on Sunday.<br \/>\nEstablished in April 2010, the CRO-AP is a voluntary consumer organization working on a pan-India level.<br \/>\nBagang said a state like Arunachal Pradesh requires consumer awareness on various levels.<br \/>\n&#8220;We, the people, are not concerned when a retailer or a shopkeeper sells products at the highest maximum retail price (MRP). We don&#8217;t even understand the value of Re 1 and avoid taking back the change, which is an awful trend,&#8221; Bagang said.<br \/>\nHe said the best way to tackle such problems is to create awareness and execute certain consumer laws.
