{"id":243327,"date":"2024-06-30T01:39:31","date_gmt":"2024-06-29T20:09:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=243327"},"modified":"2024-06-30T01:39:31","modified_gmt":"2024-06-29T20:09:31","slug":"landslides-snap-surface-communication-in-several-dists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2024\/06\/30\/landslides-snap-surface-communication-in-several-dists\/","title":{"rendered":"Landslides snap surface communication in several dists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 29 Jun:<\/strong> Surface communication to several districts of Arunachal Pradesh was snapped following landslides triggered by incessant rain, officials said on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A key stretch from Aalo in West Siang district to Mechukha in Shi-Yomi district was damaged in between Roing and Pene villages due to the continuous downpour, they said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shi-Yomi District Information &amp; Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) Jumi Ete said that landslides have been reported at various locations in the area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Aalo-Mechuka road is strategically important for Army personnel deployed in Shi-Yomi district, she said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The BRO has engaged men and machinery to clear the road, the DIPRO said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The blockade is likely to be cleared by Saturday evening for light motor vehicles if weather conditions are favourable, another official said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Pasighat-Pangin-Aalo road has also been damaged near Tarak village in Siang district, with many vehicles getting stranded, he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0In Itanagar, the capital district administration carried out an eviction drive against illegal structures along National Highway 415, the official said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The temporary structures were demolished as they were choking drains, he added.
