{"id":246171,"date":"2024-08-12T01:42:11","date_gmt":"2024-08-11T20:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=246171"},"modified":"2024-08-12T01:42:11","modified_gmt":"2024-08-11T20:12:11","slug":"visitors-climbing-war-memorial-sparks-concern","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2024\/08\/12\/visitors-climbing-war-memorial-sparks-concern\/","title":{"rendered":"Visitors&#8217; climbing war memorial sparks concern"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>PASIGHAT, 11 Aug:<\/strong> A viral photograph, in which some visitors are seen atop the memorial to the Anglo-Abor War of 1911-&#8217;12, located in Kekar Monying in Kebang village in Siang district, has raised concern among the citizens.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Oyin Paron, an entrepreneur, opined that &#8220;if the act (of standing atop the memorial) continues, it will not last even five years,&#8221; and appealed to visitors to refrain from climbing up the memorial.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The memorial commemorates the Battle of Kekar Monying, which played a pivotal role during the Anglo-Abor War of 1911-&#8217;12, when Adi warriors stood against the British forces.
