{"id":249140,"date":"2024-09-24T00:17:33","date_gmt":"2024-09-23T18:47:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=249140"},"modified":"2024-09-24T00:17:33","modified_gmt":"2024-09-23T18:47:33","slug":"orientation-prog-on-organic-integrated-farming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2024\/09\/24\/orientation-prog-on-organic-integrated-farming\/","title":{"rendered":"Orientation prog on organic, integrated farming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 23 Sep:<\/strong> The agriculture department of Himalayan University (HU), in collaboration with the Papum Pare KVK, organised a skill orientation programme on &#8216;Organic farming and integrated farming system&#8217; for the university&#8217;s final year BSc agriculture students at the KVK on Monday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) programme was aimed at updating the students&#8217; knowledge of organic farming and the integrated farming system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">HU agriculture HoD Dr Raja Husain led the programme, along with faculty members Dr Lipi, Dr Sonbeer and Dr Kasinam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr Husain advised the students to &#8220;update your knowledge about the modern approaches to organic and integrated farming, which is being used in the Papum Pare KVK,&#8221; while KVK Head Dr Bangkeng Perme assured future collaboration with the HU&#8217;s agriculture department for the benefit of the students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">KVK agronomist Tadang Meena spoke about &#8220;research projects and their funding agencies, activities and demonstration units of the KVK,&#8221; the university informed in a release.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The HU team inspected the farmhouse and the demonstration units of the KVK, where Meena explained &#8220;crop trial having the intercropping of millet and soybean crops and benefits of intercropping of both crops in reference to crop yield,&#8221; the release added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">KVK fisheries scientist Dr Vivekanand Safi delivered a talk on integrated farming, and explained the procedure and conditions for rearing different speeches of fishes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">KVK horticulture scientist Hemanta Ngangbam explained &#8220;the management practices of horticultural crops via natural farming&#8221; and the &#8220;production and management practices of pineapple in Arunachal&#8217;sconditions,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Twenty-seven final year BSc agriculture students participated in the programme, the university informed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, 23 Sep: The agriculture department of Himalayan University (HU), in collaboration with the Papum Pare KVK, organised a skill orientation programme on &#8216;Organic farming and integrated farming system&#8217; for the university&#8217;s final year BSc agriculture students at the KVK on Monday.
