{"id":24920,"date":"2018-04-08T01:37:06","date_gmt":"2018-04-07T20:07:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=24920"},"modified":"2018-04-08T01:37:06","modified_gmt":"2018-04-07T20:07:06","slug":"mopin-celebration-ends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/04\/08\/mopin-celebration-ends\/","title":{"rendered":"Mopin celebration ends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>PASIGHAT, Apr 7:<\/strong> The three-day Mopin celebration here in East Siang district concluded on Saturday evening, spreading the message of peace, brotherhood and prosperity.<br \/>\nCultural performances, including traditional dances and folk music, along with exotic cuisine and various competitions marked the celebration.<br \/>\nOn Friday evening, members of the Pasighat Central Mopin Celebration Committee (CMCC) and a troupe from Aalo thrilled the audience at the deputy commissioner&#8217;s residence with their melodious songs and traditional Popir dances.<br \/>\nDC Tamiyo Tatak in his message urged the community to adhere to its age-old customs, and expressed gratitude to the community for &#8216;celebrating the festival in a befitting manner for social unity.&#8217;<br \/>\nTatak expressed hope that such celebration would bring good luck and prosperity, along with good harvest and relief from diseases, calamities, evil spirits, and such.<br \/>\nShowcasing an amazing array of ritualistic and cultural activities for three consecutive days, the people prayed for blessings from Ane Mopin for a bumper harvest, communal harmony, and good health for all.<br \/>\nLater on Friday evening, the rituals of riga (conclusion) was performed at the residence of Pingi Neri K Riram, followed by pinku pinte (plantation of seeds).<br \/>\nThe festival celebration was organised by the CMCC-2018, under the chairmanship of ADC Tatdo Borang.
