{"id":249361,"date":"2024-09-27T00:27:23","date_gmt":"2024-09-26T18:57:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=249361"},"modified":"2024-09-27T00:27:23","modified_gmt":"2024-09-26T18:57:23","slug":"cosaap-units-stage-protest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2024\/09\/27\/cosaap-units-stage-protest\/","title":{"rendered":"CoSAAP units stage protest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>[Prem Chetry]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>BOMDILA, 26 Sep:<\/strong> Members of the West Kameng district unit of the Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) staged a peaceful protest, demanding fulfillment of its four-point charter of demands, near the DC office here on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">District CoSAAP president Tasso Gurro said, &#8220;It is a peaceful protest, in which all the government employees from every department has joined. We want our four demands to be fulfilled.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The demands are: complete scrapping of the National Pension Scheme (NPS); immediate restoration of the old pension scheme (OPS); non-implementation of the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS); and immediate constitution of the 8th Central Pay Commission(CPC, 2026).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The unit&#8217;s office secretary Sunny Sangchoju spoke on the difference between the NPS, the OPS and the UPS, and implored the government to &#8220;look into the matter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The unit&#8217;s finance secretary Dorjee Tsering Rijiju also spoke.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, the East Siang district unit of the CoSAAP informed in a release that its members organised a &#8216;jan akrosh rally&#8217; outside the DC office in Pasighat on Thursday to press the demands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">More than 600 employees of various government departments participated in the rally, which was led by district CoSAAP president Kalen Komut and its secretary Dr Tamang Tamuk, it said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CoSAAP-units-stage-protest-2.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-249366 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CoSAAP-units-stage-protest-2.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"314\" height=\"316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CoSAAP-units-stage-protest-2.webp 570w, https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CoSAAP-units-stage-protest-2-298x300.webp 298w, https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CoSAAP-units-stage-protest-2-150x150.webp 150w, https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/CoSAAP-units-stage-protest-2-417x420.webp 417w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 314px) 100vw, 314px\" \/><\/a>The Arunachal Pradesh Technical Teachers&#8217; Association (APTTA) also on Thursday joined the protest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The statewide protest was organised by the CoSAAP,under the aegis of the All India State Govt Employees Federation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The faculty members of all government polytechnic colleges under the aegis of the APTTA participated in it by wearing black badges, joining the CoSAAP in its programmes, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Prem Chetry] BOMDILA, 26 Sep: Members of the West Kameng district unit of the Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) staged a peaceful protest, demanding fulfillment of its four-point charter of demands, near the DC office here on Wednesday afternoon.
