{"id":251210,"date":"2024-10-26T01:36:25","date_gmt":"2024-10-25T20:06:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=251210"},"modified":"2024-10-26T01:36:25","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T20:06:25","slug":"jnc-organizes-self-defence-training-for-girl-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2024\/10\/26\/jnc-organizes-self-defence-training-for-girl-students\/","title":{"rendered":"JNC organizes self-defence training for girl students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>PASIGHAT, 25 Oct:<\/strong> Over 130 girl students of JN College (JNC) here in East Siang were trained in self-defence and basic hand-to-hand combat skills during a weeklong training programme organized by the alumni association of the college, in association with the college&#8217;s internal quality assurance cell, from 20 October.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking at the valedictory function, JNC Principal Dr Tasi Taloh highlighted the importance of self-defence for women to get prepared mentally and physically well-equipped with required skills and techniques to defend themselves from any kind of attack.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Such training, in a way, is a step towards women empowerment,&#8221; Dr Taloh said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Programme coordinator and Assistant Professor Yakam Saroh said that &#8220;such training is the need of the hour for young girls in today&#8217;s society, making them fit and ready to face any challenges in their life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Veronica Padung, an alumnus of the college and a national senior karate medallist, was the master trainer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">East Siang District Karate Association president Vijay Mize also attended the programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The training was closely monitored by East Siang District Karate Association general secretary Ajay Chetri.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PASIGHAT, 25 Oct: Over 130 girl students of JN College (JNC) here in East Siang were trained in self-defence and basic hand-to-hand combat skills during a weeklong training programme organized by the alumni association of the college, in association with the college&#8217;s internal quality assurance cell, from 20 October.
