TEZU, 6 Dec:<\/strong> Bamboosa Library,\u00a0 jointly with the Central Bureau of Communica-tion’s Tezu field office, organised a two-day Navy Day celebration with painting competitions\u00a0 for students of Class 8 to 12, and an exhibition of posters and books on the Indian Navy’s not so widely known history of sacrifices for national security.<\/p>\n Addressing the audience of youths after giving away the prizes, 22 Arunachal Pradesh Bn NCC Associate Officer Lt Dr Rajen Miwu said that “the Indian Navy offers ample opportunities for promoting Arunachal’s youths’ personal talents and building a career.”<\/p>\n “Today, even the Navy is open for both boys and girls and more of you should come forward to build a career in the Indian Navy,” he said.<\/p>\n Speaking on the Agniveer programme, he said that it is an excellent choice for youths not interested in academic life.<\/p>\n “Just after passing Class 10 or 12, you can join and build your personality and life skills during the four years in the defence, totally free,” he said.<\/p>\n He also congratulated all the 45 young artistes from five schools of Lohit district who participated in the paining competition.<\/p>\n Earlier, Lohit Youth Library Network coordinator S Mundayoor presented an outline of the history of the Indian Navy, especially its brilliant military offensives over the Karachi port during the 1971 war that greatly crippled Pakistan’s naval and air force.<\/p>\n He also paid tributes to Capt Mahendra Nath Mulla MVC, and other martyrs of the Indian Navy who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.<\/p>\n The first prize in the painting contest, themed ‘Our Navy’, was won by Arpita Ram, (Police Welfare School, Tezu) while the second and third prizes went to Bini Yumum and Kamkhing Panka (both VKV Sunpura ), respectively.<\/p>\n Thirteen other students were awarded consolation prizes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" TEZU, 6 Dec: Bamboosa Library,\u00a0 jointly with the Central Bureau of Communica-tion’s Tezu field office, organised a two-day Navy Day celebration with painting competitions\u00a0 for students of Class 8 to 12, and an exhibition of posters and books on the Indian Navy’s not so widely known history of sacrifices for national security.
