{"id":25459,"date":"2018-04-13T01:34:10","date_gmt":"2018-04-12T20:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=25459"},"modified":"2018-04-13T01:34:10","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T20:04:10","slug":"media-workshop-on-climate-change-concludes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/04\/13\/media-workshop-on-climate-change-concludes\/","title":{"rendered":"Media workshop on climate change concludes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Apr 12:<\/strong> The three-day media workshop on climate change, held at the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre here, concluded on Thursday.<br \/>\nThe workshop was organized jointly by the Indian Himalayas Climate Adaptation Programme and the union science &amp; technology department in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh environment &amp; forests department and the Centre for Media Studies.<br \/>\nDuring the three-day workshop the panelists, including the managing editor of the India Science Wire, officials from the state&#8217;s Action Plan for Climate Change cell, and the principal chief conservator of forests interacted with the state&#8217;s media persons on creating awareness on climate change.<br \/>\nThe second day featured a field trip to the organic tea estate and a cardamom plantation in Potin to study the mitigation and adaptive measures taken by the villagers there.<br \/>\nDuring Thursday&#8217;s interaction programme,, the panelists (including senior journalists and others) emphasized the need to create an accurate database of climate change, which could be used for sensitizing the people on the impact of climate change on the state.<br \/>\nDeveloping synergy between the media and the government departments was also emphasized.<br \/>\nLater, the additional PCCF (environment &amp; climate change) committed to hold meetings with the state&#8217;s media fraternity every three months to share information and ideas on tackling climate change issues.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Apr 12: The three-day media workshop on climate change, held at the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre here, concluded on Thursday.
