{"id":254797,"date":"2025-01-06T00:37:56","date_gmt":"2025-01-05T19:07:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=254797"},"modified":"2025-01-06T00:37:56","modified_gmt":"2025-01-05T19:07:56","slug":"26-myanmarese-deported-manipur-cm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2025\/01\/06\/26-myanmarese-deported-manipur-cm\/","title":{"rendered":"26 Myanmarese deported: Manipur CM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Imphal, 5 Jan:<\/strong> Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday said 26 Myanmarese, who entered India through the state&#8217;s border, were deported to their country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Singh also said his government is committed to act against illegal immigration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a post on X, the chief minister said, &#8220;A group of 26 Myanmar nationals, who entered India through Manipur&#8217;s porous border, were deported to their home country today.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Singh also said that the state government &#8220;reaffirms its commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to those fleeing war, ensuring their care and dignified departure&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;However, the state maintains a firm stance against allowing illegal migrants to stay back in Manipur,&#8221; the chief minister said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Officials said the foreigners were handed over to the authorities of Myanmar by representatives of the state police and the central forces in Moreh border town.
