{"id":26459,"date":"2018-04-23T02:18:50","date_gmt":"2018-04-22T20:48:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=26459"},"modified":"2018-04-23T02:18:50","modified_gmt":"2018-04-22T20:48:50","slug":"children-in-border-villages-suffering-from-malnutrition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/04\/23\/children-in-border-villages-suffering-from-malnutrition\/","title":{"rendered":"Children in border villages suffering from malnutrition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Apr 22:<\/strong> Majority of the children and women living in various border villages of Longding district have reportedly been found suffering from malnutrition, worm infection, and vitamin deficiencies.<br \/>\nThe Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP), which conducted a series of free medical camps in various border villages in the district from 16 to 21 April, informed that most of the patients who attended the camps were found suffering from malnutrition and worm infection &#8211; especially children below eight years.<br \/>\nAs many as 800 patients attended the medical camps, which were organized at Chanu, Konnu, Kamhua Noknu, and Wakka villages from, informed the AVP.<br \/>\nWhile the women were detected with iron, calcium and vitamin (A, B1 and D) deficiency, the youths were found suffering from night blindness due to Vitamin A deficiency, the AVP said.<br \/>\nIt urged the state government to take steps to address these health problems.<br \/>\nThe AVP&#8217;s state medical in-charge Dr RB Mishra and state joint organizing secretary Suneel Kumar led the medical camps, which were organized in collaboration with the AVP&#8217;s Longding unit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Apr 22: Majority of the children and women living in various border villages of Longding district have reportedly been found suffering from malnutrition, worm infection, and vitamin deficiencies.
