The celebration began on April 19 last and concluded on Wednesday.<br \/>\nJoining the celebration Koloriang MLA Pani Taram said Gumkum Gumpa festival has played an important role in social upliftment of the Puroik community since its celebration began in 1976.<br \/>\nTaram urged members of Puroik community to concentrate on education.<br \/>\nThe recent establishment of Autonomous Puroik Welfare Board shows that government wants to provide best facilities to the community, said Taram.<br \/>\nCGGFC-2018 Chairman Kashok Halley in his address said that the Gumkum gumpa festival is celebrated to foster sense of bonding among the members of the community.<br \/>\nHe also elaborated the evolution and history of Puroik community.<br \/>\nOrganizing Secretary Siji Nanu, All Puroik Women Welfare Society (APWWS) General Secretary Yami Washi, All Puroik Students Union (APSU) General Secretary Tabang Waru among others addressed the gathering.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NIRJULI, Apr 25: The Gumkum Gumpa festival of Puroik community was celebrated with traditional gaiety here at Nikum Niya general ground on Wednesday.
