{"id":268755,"date":"2025-08-10T00:31:28","date_gmt":"2025-08-09T19:01:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=268755"},"modified":"2025-08-10T00:31:28","modified_gmt":"2025-08-09T19:01:28","slug":"cji-gavai-begins-two-day-arunachal-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2025\/08\/10\/cji-gavai-begins-two-day-arunachal-visit\/","title":{"rendered":"CJI Gavai begins two-day Arunachal visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 9 Aug:<\/strong> Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai arrived here on Saturday on a two-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chief Minister Pema Khandu welcomed the CJI on behalf of the people of the state, presenting him with a traditional &#8216;khada&#8217; as a gesture of respect and goodwill.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pawan Kumar Sain, commissioner to the governor, received him on behalf of Governor KT Parnaik, who is currently on an official tour outside the state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Union Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, along with state Law, Legislative and Justice Minister Kento Jini were also present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Justice Ashutosh Kumar, is accompanying the CJI during the visit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CJI will inaugurate the new building of the Itanagar Permanent Bench of the Gauhati High Court in Naharlagun near here on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new state-of-the-art high court building has five courtrooms, along with other facilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The total cost of the project is Rs 135.35 crore, and it has been executed by the Public Works Department, with Guwahati-based M\/s Ganapati Construction Company as the construction agency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The HC&#8217;s foundation had been laid by Khandu in 2018.
