{"id":268879,"date":"2025-08-13T00:07:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-12T18:37:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=268879"},"modified":"2025-08-13T00:07:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T18:37:09","slug":"training-input-distribution-prog-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2025\/08\/13\/training-input-distribution-prog-held\/","title":{"rendered":"Training, input distribution prog held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NAMSAI, 12 Aug:<\/strong> Twenty-five farmers and rural youths participated in a training and input distribution programme organised by the Namsai KVK at the KVK&#8217;s conference hall here on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The programme, organised in collaboration with the floriculture and landscape department of Pasighat (E\/Siang)-based College of Horticulture and Forestry (CHF), was conducted to bring awareness among the farmers about diversification of crops through floriculture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Addressing the participants, KVK Head Dr Utpal Barua encouraged them to &#8220;undertake flower crop for diversification and sustainable income,&#8221; adding that these low-volume and high-value crops can generate employment among rural youths.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prof Sunil Kumar enlightened the participants about various cut flowers, loose flowers, house plants and hanging baskets that can be produced in Namsai&#8217;s conditions and has good market value in the Northeastern region. He shared details of sources of quality planting materials, varieties, low-cost polyhouse design, and various stages of harvesting and marketing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sudipta Bhowmick and Kamal Ray from the CHF demonstrated bouquet-making techniques.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This was followed by an interaction programme between Dr Madhumita Sonowal Bora and the farmers of Alubari area who are already engaged in flower cultivation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Flower seeds and small tools were later provided to the participants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAMSAI, 12 Aug: Twenty-five farmers and rural youths participated in a training and input distribution programme organised by the Namsai KVK at the KVK&#8217;s conference hall here on Tuesday.
