{"id":269159,"date":"2025-08-19T00:06:25","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T18:36:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=269159"},"modified":"2025-08-19T00:06:25","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T18:36:25","slug":"farmers-trained-in-modern-sericulture-techniques","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2025\/08\/19\/farmers-trained-in-modern-sericulture-techniques\/","title":{"rendered":"Farmers trained in modern sericulture techniques"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Correspondent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>RUKSIN, 18 Aug:<\/strong> Around 35 farmers received training in modern sericulture techniques during an awareness programme at Linka village here in East Siang district on Monday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Assam&#8217;s Jorhat-based Central Muga Eri Research &amp; Training Institute (CMERTI), under the Central Silk Board, conducted the programme under the statewide &#8216;Mera Resham, Mera Abhiman&#8217; campaign of the Ministry of Textiles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The aim of the programme was to transfer new sericulture technologies to farmers and boost silk production, Dr Vijay N, a sericulture scientist at CMERTI, said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The organizers will conduct campaigns at 16 places in four selected districts &#8211; East Siang, West Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, and Lohit &#8211; targeting around 10,000 farmers within a period of two weeks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the programme, Dr Vijay N provided hands-on training to the farmers on the use of disinfectants and scientific management of silkworms, and prevention of bacterial and fungal infections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Senior Sericulture Technical Assistant Subedar Pertin, Linka village GB Taja Tapa, and journalist Prafulla Kaman advised farmers to adopt the latest technologies to enhance silk production.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The organizers also distributed lime packets and medicines among the participants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Correspondent RUKSIN, 18 Aug: Around 35 farmers received training in modern sericulture techniques during an awareness programme at Linka village here in East Siang district on Monday.
