{"id":27502,"date":"2018-05-03T01:45:30","date_gmt":"2018-05-02T20:15:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=27502"},"modified":"2018-05-03T01:45:30","modified_gmt":"2018-05-02T20:15:30","slug":"village-self-governance-campaigns-across-districts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/05\/03\/village-self-governance-campaigns-across-districts\/","title":{"rendered":"Village self governance campaigns across districts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, May 2:<\/strong> As a part of celebration of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan programme (Village Self Governance Campaign) in Lohit district, Gram Swaraj Diwas was organised at Government Secondary, Loiliang village under Tezu circle.<br \/>\nPanchayat members, villagers from Loiliang and other two nearby villages, namely Hucheliang and Pomliang attended the function.<br \/>\nDRDA Tezu Project Director Duyu Ribya highlighted the significance of various rural development programmes being implemented in the district, such as PMAY (G), MG-NREGA, IWMP, etc.<br \/>\nHe informed that Loiliang village has been selected under the state flagship programme of Chief Minister&#8217;s Adarsh Gramin Yojana (CMAGY) to develop it as a model village in the district and works will be taken up on receipt of fund from the government.<br \/>\nHe appealed to the Panchayat members and villagers alike for proper implementation of all the poverty alleviation programmes in their respective villages for uplifting their livelihood.<br \/>\nTezu Block Development Officer G Manyu, APO (M) SN Singh and APO (Tech) K Dondup requested the village leaders to motivate the villagers to link their respective bank accounts with Aadhar card for convenience of making payments.<br \/>\nThey all requested the Panchayat and village leaders to avail all the opportunities provided by the government for improving their livelihood.<br \/>\nBesides RD officers and officials, the function was attended by representatives of State Bank of India (Tezu Branch), Deputy Director APEDA, and District Food &amp; Civil Supplies Officer.<br \/>\nThey also explained about various schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Ujala Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, concerning their respective departments in the said function.<br \/>\nThe central observers, Gram Swaraj Abhiyan for Kra Daadi and Kurung Kumey districts visited Palin on 30 April.<br \/>\nHK Suanthang, Director Agriculture Operations and Farmer Welfare and YP Yadav, Deputy Secretary Water Resource, GoI interacted with the villagers regarding availing government schemes.<br \/>\nOn 2 May, they reviewed all the initiatives under GSA undertaken in Kra Daadi district during an interaction programme with HODs in Nyokum Hall, Palin.<br \/>\nSuanthang suggested for financial literacy in terms of saving and insurance, while Yadav asked about achievements of the district in implementing the schemes.<br \/>\nLater, they visited Dui village, where Kishan Kalyan Karyashala was organized by ATMA, Kra Daadi district. The HODs of agriculture, horticulture, veterinary, fisheries and textile brief the farmers about various schemes available for doubling their income by 2022.<br \/>\nSome farmers and PRIs members suggested that before undertaking any scheme, land development must be undertaken first in a hilly state. They also expressed their apprehension regarding political involvement in selection of beneficiaries.<br \/>\nSuanthang spoke about e-NAM, which he said will help in minimizing the involvement of middleman during selling of agricultural produce. He also told about farmer friends, kishan call centre, and customer hiring centre while Yadav spoke about PMKSY and optimal utilization of available resources.<br \/>\nIn Tawang, a workshop on doubling farmers&#8217; income was organised by the Project Director, ATMA Tawang with support from Department of Agriculture, Horticulture and Krishi Vigyan Kendra on the occasion of Kisan Kalyan Diwas under the ongoing Gram Swaraj Abhiyan at Zomkhang Hall.<br \/>\nProgressive farmers were honoured for their excellent work in the field of agriculture and horticulture during the programme.<br \/>\nSharing their experiences and success stories, the farmers expressed gratitude to the department for the assistance rendered by the department in the form of free\/ subsidised seeds, saplings, machineries and trainings imparted.<br \/>\nApart from highlighting the good agriculture and allied practices, the farmers were informed regarding the CSS and state plan schemes and flagship programmes of various departments and exhibition stalls were also installed during the event.<br \/>\nWhile the participating farmers were given seeds and manure for free cost by local MLA, Tsering Tashi, the Agriculture department also provided them with agricultural tools.<br \/>\nSpeaking on the occasion, the MLA Tashi highlighted on the importance of agriculture with regard to the economy as well as cultural significance attached to it.<br \/>\nReflecting on the lack of opportunities due to diminishing agricultural land, MLA exhorted the farmers to adopt agriculture based businesses. He also reiterated on increasing productivity through Intensification of crop per unit area, use of improved machineries and tools and commercial production of crops.<br \/>\nTawang DC Sang Phuntsok also reflected on aspects of diversified farming and requested the farmers to take up cultivation of new crops, such as walnut, taking into consideration its climatic, soil suitability and its market value.<br \/>\nAt Pedung village, near Bomdila, the Kisan Kalyan Diwas was celebrated at the village community hall, where Agriculture Field Assistant Tsering Dema spoke regarding the importance of the National Security Mission, Blue Revolution, National Livestock Mission, etc.<br \/>\nAnchal Samiti Member Pema Khangriju and gaon Burah Passang Monpa also appealed to the farmers to engage in organic farming as much as possible.<br \/>\nBomdila LAMPS vice chairman Lobsang Genchen spoke on Gram Shakti Abhiyan, Ujjwala Panchayat and Ayushaman Bharat Abhiyan.<br \/>\nIn West Siang district, the department of Agriculture celebrated Kisan Kalyan Diwas in all blocks of the district.<br \/>\nThe main objective of the day was to hold widespread discussion on irrigation with sufficient budget, provision of quality seeds and nutrients, large investment in warehousing and cold chains, promotions of value addition through food processing, creation of National farm market, introduction of new crop insurance Scheme and promotion of poultry beekeeping and fisheries.<br \/>\nA farmer-scientist interaction was also held in collaboration with KVK Basar.<br \/>\nEAC (Admin) Henkir Lollen exhorted the farmers to learn technical knowhow by keeping in touch with officers of the department and its allied departments.<br \/>\nKisan Morcha state president Donggli Libang also encouraged organic farming to attract more buyers.<br \/>\nAs per records, West Siang district has the highest number of registered farmers in the state.<br \/>\nAt Seppa, eight Kisan Kalyan Karyashalas were conducted for the eight blocks and the best progressive farmers were awarded at each block level.<br \/>\nA total of 280 farmers participated in the said programme across the district.<br \/>\nDuring the programmes, pamphlets and leaflets were distributed, farmers&#8217; success stories were presented, farmers-scientists interaction held and strategies and action plans were discussed by all the HODS.<br \/>\nThe programme was held by Deputy Director of Agriculture -cum- PD ATMA, in collaboration with all stakeholders of ATMA, East Kameng district.<br \/>\nKisan Kaliyan Karyashala was organized at the three blocks of Raga, Ziro and Yachuli under Lower Subansiri district by the department of Agriculture, in collaboration with deputy director, Farmer Training Centre, Ziro.<br \/>\nOfficers from Agriculture and allied departments and scientists from KVK Yachuli participated as resource persons and discussed on ways to achieve the target for doubling farmers&#8217; income by 2022. (DIPROS)<br \/>\nAs a part of the Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan campaign, Kisan Kalyan Diwas was celebrated all over Siang district.<br \/>\nIn Pangin, it was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School in presence of ADC Pangin Tamik Talom, Deputy Director Agriculture Baleng Mengu and a host of other officers, staff and PRI members.<br \/>\nThe programme witnessed active participation from many SHGs and progressive farmers from the nearby villages like Pangin, Koreng, yeksi etc.<br \/>\nAgriculture Development Officer Pangin Limi Ado and Horticulture Development officer Pangin Oying Tayeng informed the participants about the various ongoing agricultural and horticultural schemes.<br \/>\nStaff from Agriculture and allied departments in collaboration with concerned administrative officers organised Kisan Kalyan Diwas at all targeted villages in the district.<br \/>\nThe Kisan Kalyan Karyashala was organized at Khonsa, wherein farmers from all over the district attended.<br \/>\nKhonsa ADC Techu Aran highlighted about the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan programme, while Tirap Agriculture Deputy Director, Pangnye Khoisia appealed to the farmers to go for sustainable agriculture and turn the farming practice into double income oriented rather than production oriented.<br \/>\nHoDs from allied departments, including Horticulture, Veterinary &amp; Fishery also participated and briefed the farmers in their respective subjects.<br \/>\nIn Anjaw, a district wide outreach programme on agriculture was flagged off in four CD blocks as part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan.<br \/>\nLaunching the Krishi Kalyan Karyashala from Walla Panchayat of Hawai circle, Deputy Director Agriculture Mark Boje gave away incentives to farmers as a token of encouragement.<br \/>\nSimilar camps were held at Walong, Tee-pani, Quibang and Hayuliang.
