{"id":276212,"date":"2026-01-09T00:36:02","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T19:06:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=276212"},"modified":"2026-01-09T00:36:02","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T19:06:02","slug":"training-prog-on-flowers-mgmt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2026\/01\/09\/training-prog-on-flowers-mgmt\/","title":{"rendered":"Training prog on flowers mgmt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ZIRO, 8 Jan:<\/strong> Eighty farmers participated in a training programme on &#8216;Approach in post-harvest management of commercial flowers&#8217;, organised here in Lower Subansiri by the district horticulture office on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The technical session was conducted by Himachal Pradesh-based CSIR-IHBT senior scientist Dr Bhavya Bhargav, who elaborated the cultivation practices, crop nutrition, and post-harvest management techniques of various commercial cut, loose, bulbous, and rhizomatic flowers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The session covered important floricultural crops such as lilium, rose, marigold, gerbera, and others, with emphasis on improving flower quality, shelf life, and marketability.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) Mission Director Benjamin Pertin, PMUMurlidhar Murari, and DHO Hibu Dante also addressed the participants and shared insights on the importance of scientific post-harvest management for enhancing farmers&#8217; income through commercial floriculture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Farmers from East Siang district, led by SDHO Oyin Tayeng, also participated in the programme.
