{"id":277432,"date":"2026-02-03T00:22:31","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T18:52:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=277432"},"modified":"2026-02-03T00:22:31","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T18:52:31","slug":"training-prog-for-itbp-personnel-on-yak-rearing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2026\/02\/03\/training-prog-for-itbp-personnel-on-yak-rearing\/","title":{"rendered":"Training prog for ITBP personnel on yak rearing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>DIRANG, 2 Feb:<\/strong> The National Research Centre on Yak (NRCY) in West Kameng district is conducting a short course on &#8216;Scientific techniques of yak handling and management&#8217; for ITBP personnel here from Monday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A total of seven ITBP jawans from the 4th, 55th and 59th Battalions of the ITBP are participating in the programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Addressing the participants, NRCY Director Dr Mihir Sarkar pointed out the importance of yaks for securing trans-boundary areas of Nepal, China, Pakistan and Bhutan, along with their direct importance in load carrying in hilly areas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Principal scientist Dr D Medhi suggested to the trainees to learn the proper techniques of yak handling and management in scientific ways.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4th Bn Veterinary Commandant Dr LG Singh underscored the importance of yaks for border security, as well as load carrying for ITBP personnel in high hills.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The programme is scheduled to continue up to 12 February, covering all aspects of breeding, feeding, housing, and health coverage of yaks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DIRANG, 2 Feb: The National Research Centre on Yak (NRCY) in West Kameng district is conducting a short course on &#8216;Scientific techniques of yak handling and management&#8217; for ITBP personnel here from Monday.
