{"id":279303,"date":"2026-03-11T00:07:51","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T18:37:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=279303"},"modified":"2026-03-11T00:07:51","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T18:37:51","slug":"workshop-on-indigenous-knowledge-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2026\/03\/11\/workshop-on-indigenous-knowledge-held\/","title":{"rendered":"Workshop on indigenous knowledge held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NAHARLAGUN, 10 Mar:<\/strong> The North East Institute of Science &amp; Technology&#8217;s (NEIST) Itanagar branch organised a workshop themed &#8216;Indigenous knowledge to evidence-based medicine: Ethnopharmacology of natural products&#8217; at its office here on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">About 50 participants, including faculty members, research scholars, and MSc students from Rajiv Gandhi University, NERIST, and Madhabdev University, Narayanpur, Assam attended the workshop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following the welcome address by NEIST Itanagar branch senior principal scientist Dr Chandan Tamuly, principal scientist Dr Ravindra K Rawal delivered a talk on &#8216;Basic of natural product research: From basic to advanced&#8217;. He explained the basics of natural product, and the significant importance of medicinal and aromatic plants in the context of Arunachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Principal scientist Dr Prasenjit Manna delivered a talk titled &#8216;Traditional wisdom to modern medicine: Ethnopharmacological insights into natural products&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following this, a hands-on training and demonstration programme on different equipment, such as gas chromatography-mass spectrophotometry (GC-MS), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and bio-assay facilities of research and development was carried out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAHARLAGUN, 10 Mar: The North East Institute of Science &amp; Technology&#8217;s (NEIST) Itanagar branch organised a workshop themed &#8216;Indigenous knowledge to evidence-based medicine: Ethnopharmacology of natural products&#8217; at its office here on Tuesday.
