{"id":280178,"date":"2026-03-26T00:16:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T18:46:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=280178"},"modified":"2026-03-26T00:16:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T18:46:13","slug":"govt-writes-to-states-to-reserve-20-jobs-for-agniveers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2026\/03\/26\/govt-writes-to-states-to-reserve-20-jobs-for-agniveers\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt writes to states to reserve 20% jobs for Agniveers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>HAMIRPUR (HP), 25 Mar:<\/strong> Union Home Minister Amit Shah has written to all states to reserve 20 per cent jobs for Agniveers for their rehabilitation after they complete their four-year term in 2027, an official said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The letter is addressed to the chief ministers, said Sainik Welfare Department director Brigadier Madan Sheel Sharma (Retd).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following the receipt of the letter, the Himachal Pradesh Sainik Welfare Department sent a report to the state government to consider the proposal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ministry called for a 20 per cent reservation in positions such as forest guards, mining guards, police constables, firemen, mounted police, jail wardens, Special Police Officers and the state disaster response force.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Haryana has become the first state to implement reservations for Agniveers in uniformed services, such as police, mining guards, jail wardens, special police officers, and Group C positions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Uttarakhand has also announced reservations for the Agniveers in police and other uniformed services.
