{"id":280723,"date":"2026-04-05T00:27:17","date_gmt":"2026-04-04T18:57:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=280723"},"modified":"2026-04-05T00:27:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T18:57:17","slug":"drug-peddler-apprehended-with-heroin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2026\/04\/05\/drug-peddler-apprehended-with-heroin\/","title":{"rendered":"Drug peddler apprehended with heroin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>[ Pisi Zauing ]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>MIAO, 4 Apr:<\/strong> The anti-drugs squad (ADS) of the Miao police station in Changlang district apprehended a drug peddler with suspected heroin weighing approximately 46.9 grams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The accused, identified as Tosham alias Matkham Ngaimong (37), a resident of New Khamlang village, Miao, was arrested on 3 April following a tip-off received from the 4th Assam Rifles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Acting swiftly on the information, the ADS team intercepted the suspect. He attempted to flee on noticing the police but was caught after a brief chase.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the operation, the police seized four soap cases containing the suspected heroin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During interrogation, the accused revealed that the drug was supplied by a relative from Noiyang village in Myanmar though he could not recall the person&#8217;s name. Further investigation is underway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ADS team has been actively working to tackle drug-related activities in the region, and has arrested several peddlers in recent times.
