{"id":281742,"date":"2026-04-26T01:07:19","date_gmt":"2026-04-25T19:37:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=281742"},"modified":"2026-04-26T01:07:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-25T19:37:19","slug":"hardcore-nscn-i-m-militant-surrenders-in-tirap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2026\/04\/26\/hardcore-nscn-i-m-militant-surrenders-in-tirap\/","title":{"rendered":"Hardcore NSCN (I-M) militant surrenders in Tirap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>KHONSA, 25 Apr:<\/strong> A hardcore insurgent belonging to the NSCN (I-M) surrendered before security forces in Tirap district on 24 April.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The militant, identified as self-styled lieutenant Thinwang Deosa (60), surrendered after sustained pressure and negotiations to shun the path of violence and return to the mainstream, the Assam Rifles stated in a press release.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prior to the surrender, the Khonsa Battalion of the Assam Rifles launched a focused operation based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of a hardcore insurgent belonging to the outfit in the Sanliam area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After reaching the suspected location, the troops activated their sources, established contact with the individual, and persuaded him to surrender.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He was subsequently taken into custody at the company operating base in Lazu, the release said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Assam Rifles said it remains committed to maintaining peace, security, and stability in the region and would continue efforts to bring misguided youths back into the mainstream.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KHONSA, 25 Apr: A hardcore insurgent belonging to the NSCN (I-M) surrendered before security forces in Tirap district on 24 April.
