I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to Smt. Likha Nari Tadar, Mayor of the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC), Shri Tok Tabin Camdir, Deputy Mayor, the entire IMC team, and, most importantly, the dedicated ground workers who are toiling every day to keep our capital&#8217;s streets clean.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Not too long ago, litter and plastic wrappers were a common and unfortunate sight across the streets of Itanagar. Today, however, there is a palpable and positive change. Our streets are noticeably cleaner, thanks to the relentless efforts of the IMC in both their daily cleaning drives and their ongoing campaigns to instill a stronger civic sense among the public.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The current initiative of penalizing individuals for the improper disposal of garbage has proven to be highly effective. However, to sustain this momentum, I suggest that stricter anti-littering laws be introduced. We need regulations that explicitly penalize individuals caught casually throwing paper and plastics directly onto the roads.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Furthermore, the citizens of Itanagar must realize that keeping our environment pristine is impossible without our active cooperation. We cannot simply leave the entire burden to the IMC. We must take ownership of our surroundings, which includes stepping up to politely but firmly stop others when we witness them littering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I extend my sincere thanks to the entire IMC team for their hard work. I urgently request all citizens of Itanagar to cooperate fully with the municipal authorities.
