KOLORIANG, 2 May:<\/strong> Kurung Kumey district is fully prepared for the smooth conduct of Census 2027.<\/p>\n ADES (i\/c) Highio Nasum informed that the district administration has completed all major preparations and is ready to carry out the important national exercise successfully.<\/p>\n To manage the census work, the district has set up 12 charges, including 10 rural charges and two urban charges. A total of 38 supervisors, 158 enumerators, and 12 technical assistants have been deployed for the task.<\/p>\n Field preparations have also been completed successfully. A total of 447 houselisting blocks have been created, geotagged, mapped, and demarcated. Villages and hamlets were verified with the help of PRI members, GBs, and local people to avoid duplication and ensure correct records.<\/p>\n Special focus has been given to training and technical readiness. Training programmes were held at Palin, Nyapin, and Koloriang for charge officers, supervisors, enumerators, and technical staffers. They were trained in the use of modern census tools such as the CMMS, HLO app, self-enumeration portal, and other digital systems.<\/p>\n Awareness campaigns were carried out through public meetings, media outreach, mock drills, and videos in local dialects to encourage public participation. The district also received a positive response from the public during the ongoing self-enumeration drive, with 93 per cent completion achieved so far.<\/p>\n The upcoming census in Kurung Kumey will cover 433 villages and two towns. Despite geographical challenges, the district is fully ready for the successful conduct of Census 2027.
