{"id":28905,"date":"2018-05-16T02:09:00","date_gmt":"2018-05-15T20:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=28905"},"modified":"2018-05-16T02:09:00","modified_gmt":"2018-05-15T20:39:00","slug":"assn-seeks-cbi-probe-in-ojing-taying-murder-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/05\/16\/assn-seeks-cbi-probe-in-ojing-taying-murder-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Assn seeks CBI probe in Ojing Taying murder case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Staff Reporter<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ITANAGAR, May 15:<\/strong> The Boriing Olung Welfare Society Youth Wing (BOWSYW) has appealed to the state government to immediately transfer the Ojing Taying murder case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), citing minimal progress in the investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) over 11 months.<br \/>\nIn June, it would be a year since the attack on and subsequent death of Ojing.<br \/>\nAddressing reporters at the press club on Tuesday, BOWSYW president Ilajah Taying said the members of the association submitted a memorandum to Home Minister Kumar Waii on Monday, seeking CBI inquiry into the case.<br \/>\nIlajah said the home minister forwarded the request to Home Commissioner GS Meena. He said the commissioner is currently out of town to take action in the matter.<br \/>\nThe BOWSYW president clarified that the association does not question the capability of the SIT. He said, however, that the working system of the SIT and the police were similar, and sought &#8220;a fresh approach&#8221; to crack the case at the earliest.<br \/>\nThe members of the BOWSYW said they are ready to cooperate with the investigating authorities as and when required. Ojing&#8217;s case was only one of the many such cases that occur on an almost daily basis in the capital region, they said, and called for expediting the investigation in order to set a precedent.<br \/>\nOjing and two of his friends were attacked by unidentified persons on the intervening night of 9 and 10 June, 2017.
