{"id":30075,"date":"2018-05-27T02:21:40","date_gmt":"2018-05-26T20:51:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=30075"},"modified":"2018-05-27T02:21:40","modified_gmt":"2018-05-26T20:51:40","slug":"mock-drills-on-disaster-preparedness-begin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/05\/27\/mock-drills-on-disaster-preparedness-begin\/","title":{"rendered":"Mock drills on disaster preparedness begin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>HAWAI, May 26:<\/strong> A fortnight-long community awareness programme on disaster preparedness, along with presentation of mock drills, started in Anjaw district on Friday.<br \/>\nBeing organized by the Doimukh-based 12th Bn NDRF in collaboration with the district disaster management department, such programmes will be conducted in all the circles of the district.<br \/>\nAttending the inaugural function here, Deputy Commissioner In-charge B Tawsik directed the NDRF team to provide training on disaster preparedness specific to the district, and advised the participants to take full advantage of the programme.<br \/>\nDDMO S Tayang made a PowerPoint presentation on the history of natural disasters in Anjaw.<br \/>\nNDRF team commander, Inspector Manish Kumar Choudhary said the main purpose of the programme is to prepare first responders in case of a disaster.<br \/>\nSearch-and-rescue teams of the NDRF imparted training on rescue techniques, preparation of rescue equipment from locally and cheaply available materials, and pre-hospital treatment. They also presented a mock drill on rescue operation during disaster.<br \/>\nBesides government officials, PRI members and members of the public attended the inaugural event.
