{"id":30751,"date":"2018-06-01T01:47:42","date_gmt":"2018-05-31T20:17:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=30751"},"modified":"2018-06-01T01:47:42","modified_gmt":"2018-05-31T20:17:42","slug":"everester-muri-linggi-given-grand-welcome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/06\/01\/everester-muri-linggi-given-grand-welcome\/","title":{"rendered":"Everester Muri Linggi given grand welcome"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>Correspondent<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ROING, May 31:<\/strong> Muri Linggi, the third Everester from the state, returned home on Thursday to a grand welcome by the people of Roing, the Idu Mishmi Cultural and Literary Society (IMCLS), her clan members, and the Lower Dibang Valley district administration.<br \/>\nThe 40-year-old mother of four daughters, who has brought laurels to the state by summiting Mount Everest on 14 May, was received at the gate by a huge crowd, and from there was taken on an open-top jeep to the circuit house, followed by an entourage of well-wishers.<br \/>\nAt the circuit house, Linggi was given a warm welcome by Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom, ADC Chesta Yadav, ZPC Sipi Elapra, DSO Raju Mipi, and the HoDs of various departments of the district.<br \/>\nLinggi shared her experience and thanked everyone for supporting her dream and making it a success.<br \/>\nThe DC congratulated Linggi and everyone who extended their support to her. She also urged the sports and youth affairs department to encourage others, especially the younger generation, &#8220;to take inspiration and scale more heights.&#8221;<br \/>\nDDSE Igo Doye said that the department is very proud of Linggi, who currently works as a peon at the government middle school, Arungo.<br \/>\nFormer MP Laeta Umbrey said having two Everesters come from the very small Idu-Mishmi community is a matter of pride.<br \/>\n&#8220;Parents should not only pressurize children towards studies but should encourage other activities too. Careers can be made out of sports,&#8221; he said.<br \/>\n&#8220;Take inspiration from Tine Mena and Muri Linggi.
