{"id":323,"date":"2017-09-03T23:06:11","date_gmt":"2017-09-03T17:36:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=323"},"modified":"2017-09-06T23:11:31","modified_gmt":"2017-09-06T17:41:31","slug":"veteran-cup-begins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2017\/09\/03\/veteran-cup-begins\/","title":{"rendered":"Veteran Cup begins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Naharalgun United draw with Laba FC 0-0 in opener<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Sep 2:<\/strong> Defending champion Naharalgun United FC (NUFC) and Laba FC (LFC) played out a goalless draw to share points in the opening match of the 5th State Level Veteran Cup Football Tournament (31 year and older) at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Naharlagun on Saturday.<br \/>\nThe match started on a promising note and was evenly poised till the end.<br \/>\nSome smart goalkeeping and missed opportunities saved the day for both the teams; otherwise the match could have gone either way.<br \/>\nThough few older players succumbed to fatigue at the end and did not have much energy to control the ball efficiently, the match remained close throughout.<br \/>\nEarlier, PHED Minister Bamang Felix said win and loss are part and parcel of any game.<br \/>\n\u201cWinning is not everything. All that matters is participation,\u201d he said. Felix urged the players to motivate the young players in sports.<br \/>\nLater, he hoisted the tournament flag.<br \/>\nCapital Complex Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan, Director of Sports Tadar Appa, Sports Authority of Arunachal Chairman Bamang Tago, among others, attended the opening ceremony.<br \/>\nTwo matches will be held on Sunday.
