{"id":34215,"date":"2018-06-29T00:20:15","date_gmt":"2018-06-28T18:50:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=34215"},"modified":"2018-06-29T00:20:15","modified_gmt":"2018-06-28T18:50:15","slug":"meeting-on-tobacco-control-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/06\/29\/meeting-on-tobacco-control-held\/","title":{"rendered":"Meeting on tobacco control held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>YINGKIONG, Jun 28:<\/strong> Matters related to controlling tobacco products in Upper Siang district were discussed during a meeting of the District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) chaired by ADC Adong Pertin here on 25 June.<br \/>\nDMO Dr Dubom Bagra presented an outline on the &#8220;prospective burden of tobacco in the society&#8221; and requested the members to actively participate in making Upper Subansiri a tobacco-free district.<br \/>\nDTCC DPO Dr India Modi made a presentation on the &#8220;pros and cons of using tobacco,&#8221; and presented an overview of the National Tobacco Control Programme and the status of the DTCC.<br \/>\nDTCC consultant Goyir Ada spoke about the provisions of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), 2003.<br \/>\nAn enforcement committee and an enforcement squad were also formed to control tobacco and other tobacco-related products in the district.<br \/>\nThe ADC assured full support in the implementation of the COTPA in Upper Siang, and sought the cooperation of all stakeholders for its successful implementation.
