{"id":34231,"date":"2018-06-29T00:22:33","date_gmt":"2018-06-28T18:52:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=34231"},"modified":"2018-06-29T00:22:33","modified_gmt":"2018-06-28T18:52:33","slug":"dc-reviews-disaster-preparedness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/06\/29\/dc-reviews-disaster-preparedness\/","title":{"rendered":"DC reviews disaster preparedness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>YUPIA, Jun 28:<\/strong> Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Dr Joram Beda on Thursday reviewed the disaster preparedness of the district.<br \/>\nThe DC asked all the officers of the district to work in close coordination to tackle any disaster during the monsoon.<br \/>\n&#8220;We must be very serious about the disaster scenario of the district and, in the wake of last year&#8217;s incidents, we must remain active and alert during the monsoon as our district is also a disaster prone area,&#8221; Dr Beda.<br \/>\nHe requested the NDRF to conduct mock drills in coordination with the DDMA to sensitize people on the importance of disaster preparedness.<br \/>\nThe DC informed that the district emergency operating centre will be set up at the DDMO office here to monitor and supervise any emergency situation.<br \/>\nHe also instructed the SDOs to issue orders to all administrative centres of the district to not grant leave to officers and staff during the monsoon period.<br \/>\nPapum Pare SP Tumme Amo made a presentation on the disaster response system of the police.<br \/>\nSpeaking about last year&#8217;s incidents in Hostallam and Laptap, he said, &#8220;Local people remain very active and cooperative in search and rescue operations during any disaster. Hence, volunteers at village level must also be included in the district disaster management plan.&#8221;<br \/>\n12 Bn NDRF Deputy Commandant Ranjan Daimary said the NDRF is always ready to conduct mock drills or capacity-building programmes to generate mass awareness on disaster preparedness.<br \/>\nHighway Executive Engineer B Pelen apprised the DC of the problems faced by his department.<br \/>\nThe SDRF team made a presentation on their activities, while DDMO Tsering Youngzom provided details on the district&#8217;s disaster management plan.
