{"id":39757,"date":"2018-08-07T01:18:03","date_gmt":"2018-08-06T19:48:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=39757"},"modified":"2018-08-07T01:28:01","modified_gmt":"2018-08-06T19:58:01","slug":"cs-advocates-following-legal-provisions-in-detecting-illegal-immigrants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/08\/07\/cs-advocates-following-legal-provisions-in-detecting-illegal-immigrants\/","title":{"rendered":"Prog on women- and child-friendly acts held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>RUMGONG, Aug 6:<\/strong> Members of SHGs, public and anganwadi centres were sensitized to various women- and children- friendly laws during an awareness programme held here in Siang district on 3 August.<br \/>\nThe programme focused on the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, which protect women and children from domestic violence, maltreatment, sexual abuse, and harassment.<br \/>\nThe government has enacted the laws to tackle the increasing incidents of crimes against women and children, and protect them from such crimes, said Omang Tangu from the women &amp; child development department.<br \/>\nRumgong CDPO Jumde Gamlin urged the participants to actively participate in checking unlawful activities in the society. Riga CDPO Lenzing Tagi highlighted the provisions of both the acts through a PowerPoint presentation.<br \/>\nAmong others, Pangin CDPO Omang Tangu, the Rumgong CHC MO in-charge, and the Rumgong PS OC attended the programme.
