{"id":41184,"date":"2018-08-19T01:45:33","date_gmt":"2018-08-18T20:15:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=41184"},"modified":"2018-08-19T01:45:33","modified_gmt":"2018-08-18T20:15:33","slug":"mla-inaugurates-sports-academy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/08\/19\/mla-inaugurates-sports-academy\/","title":{"rendered":"MLA inaugurates sports academy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>DOIMUKH, Aug 18:<\/strong> MLA Nyamar Karbak inaugurated the Siang-Carrom and Tennikoit Academy &#8211; the state&#8217;s first and only academy affiliated to the All India Carrom Federation and the Tennikoit Federation of India &#8211; here on Saturday.<br \/>\nTennikoit, also called ring tennis or tenniquoits, is a game played on a tennis-style court, with a circular rubber ring hurled over a net separating the two players, with each endeavouring to catch and return the hurled ring into the opponent&#8217;s court.<br \/>\nThe game is particularly popular in Germany, South Africa, Brazil, and the subcontinent nations of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.<br \/>\nSpeaking on the occasion, Karbak said the state government has given sports &#8220;a precise direction after unveiling its sports policy.&#8221;<br \/>\nSpeaking about job reservations for meritorious sportspersons in all the departments, he advised the sportspersons to grab the opportunity by excelling in their chosen sports.<br \/>\nSP (Security) Tojo Karga also attended the function.
