{"id":41549,"date":"2018-08-21T02:20:04","date_gmt":"2018-08-20T20:50:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=41549"},"modified":"2018-08-21T02:20:04","modified_gmt":"2018-08-20T20:50:04","slug":"technology-needed-to-tap-arunachals-hydropower-potential-taga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/08\/21\/technology-needed-to-tap-arunachals-hydropower-potential-taga\/","title":{"rendered":"Technology needed to tap Arunachal\u2019s hydropower potential: Taga"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>FRANKFURT (Germany), Aug 20:<\/strong> Although Arunachal Pradesh has a hydropower potential of 58,000 mw and is considered &#8220;the future power state of India,&#8221; the state is unable to generate clean power due to lack of technology, Power Minister Tamiyo Taga said.<br \/>\nTaga said this during a capacity building programme on &#8216;Integration of renewable energy resources for NER&#8217; which is being held at Germany and Spain from 18 to 28 August.<br \/>\nThe minister was accompanied by the state&#8217;s power commissioner and a high-level official delegation.<br \/>\nEarlier, German environmental and energy consultant Peter Heck in his address said tapping renewable energy is a major economic opportunity for developing economies like India.<br \/>\n&#8220;There is a master plan to clean up cities, and this would lead to more jobs. But there is a need to invest.
