{"id":41917,"date":"2018-08-23T01:28:06","date_gmt":"2018-08-22T19:58:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=41917"},"modified":"2018-08-23T01:28:06","modified_gmt":"2018-08-22T19:58:06","slug":"smrf-writes-to-pm-on-tawang-hydro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/08\/23\/smrf-writes-to-pm-on-tawang-hydro\/","title":{"rendered":"SMRF writes to PM on Tawang hydro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Staff Reporter<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Aug 22:<\/strong> The Save Mon Region Federation (SMRF) has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking rollback of the Tawang-II 800 MW Hydro electric Project.<br \/>\nIn a submission to the Prime Minister, the SMRF stated that a decision to rollback the project was already taken by the elected representatives and the land effected people of the area in a meeting, which was also attended by the administration in February 2017.<br \/>\nIt informed that a closure report of the NHPC project was submitted to the state government based on the outcome of the meeting, and the state government was yet to act on the report.<br \/>\nThe organisation further informed the prime minister that seven project affected villages have again passed a resolution on 12 July this year against the hydro electric project.<br \/>\nIn another representation to the prime minister, it said that land acquisition process of forest land pending forest clearance is \u201cillegal and therefore it should be stopped\u201d.<br \/>\nProceeding with land acquisition pending forest clearance is illegal as there is an overlap between land being diverted under Forest (conservation) Act, 1980 and Land Acquisition Act.
