According to the flood division of the water resources department (WRD), &#8220;There has been heavy downpour in the hilly areas, due to which major tributaries of the Siang river are flooded.&#8221;<br \/>\nAll the rivers in the state are in spate following heavy rains across the state, with most of them flowing either above the danger mark or showing a rising trend.<br \/>\nThe East Siang district administration and the WRD have advised the people residing on the river banks and those in low-lying areas to be alert to any emergency situation.<br \/>\nThe nearby residents of Seram, Borguli, Kongkul Sigar, Mer, and Namsing have been shifted to a safer place.<br \/>\nMP Ninong Ering visited the flood-affected areas, and sanctioned Rs 5 lakhs.<br \/>\nThe MP later tweeted that the there has been an unprecedented rise in the river&#8217;s water level which is posing a threat to humans and livestock.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Correspondent PASIGHAT, Sep 14: The Siang river is flowing above the danger level in East Siang district.
