{"id":45558,"date":"2018-09-16T01:57:12","date_gmt":"2018-09-15T20:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=45558"},"modified":"2018-09-16T01:57:12","modified_gmt":"2018-09-15T20:27:12","slug":"engineers-day-celebrated-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/09\/16\/engineers-day-celebrated-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Engineers&#8217; Day celebrated"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Engineers can shape state\u2019s future: Governor<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Sep 15:<\/strong> Governor BD Mishra said the engineers could shape the future of Arunachal Pradesh.<br \/>\n&#8220;Engineers are the ones who can shape the future of the state,&#8221; Mishra said, speaking at the silver jubilee celebration of the Arunachal Pradesh Engineering Service Association (APESA), which was organised here on 15 September, coinciding with Engineers&#8217; Day, which marks the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and eminent engineer Dr Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.<br \/>\nMishra advised the engineers to &#8220;think out of the box, be innovative, and work with honesty, discipline, creativity and transparency.<br \/>\n&#8220;Use the latest technologies, have an eco-friendly approach, and be committed to their responsibilities towards your colleagues and juniors,&#8221; he added.<br \/>\nDeputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, former secretary and chief engineer Tomi Ete, APESA president Pura Tupe, vice president Modam Jini, and secretary general Karom Perme also spoke.<br \/>\nEarlier, the governor released the silver jubilee APESA souvenir.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Serve the public: Felix<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Attending the Engineers&#8217; Day celebration at Rupa in West Kameng district, RWD Minister Bamang Felix called upon the engineers to rededicate themselves to the public services and responsibilities entrusted upon them.<br \/>\nHe said the occasion was &#8220;the right time and platform to brainstorm and commit oneself for a new India.&#8221;<br \/>\nEarlier, Felix paid floral tributes to the portrait of Dr Visvesvaraya at the RWD circle office in Rupa.<br \/>\nFelix also reviewed the status of various ongoing schemes being implemented in Tawang, East Kameng and West Kameng districts, during a meeting with all the EEs and DPIUs of the three districts and the firms\/contractors concerned.<br \/>\nHe said the role of the RWD &#8220;should not be confined only to providing road connectivity in the rural areas; rather it should also endeavor to provide livelihood in the rural areas.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe minister exhorted the engineers to adopt new technologies and creativity &#8220;and give a complete changeover to the department&#8217;s image.&#8221; He assured that fund would not be a constraint, but cautioned that non-performers would be taken to task.<br \/>\nThe SEs of RWD, PWD and PHED also spoke.
